read about the trip
Technically, our destination was
Seattle, which we thoroughly enjoyed. But Pike Place (and downtown in general)
was the highlight. We
got to see the famous fish market where they throw your fish across the counter
to you (or you can have one of the fishmongers catch it for you), we stopped to
listen to street musicians everywhere, browsed through flower stands and nibbled
all kinds of tasty treats -- crepes, sausages, smoked fish, pastries, fresh
lemonade, just to name a few. We sat in a park above the waterfront and watched
the ferries leave for the islands in the Sound, traipsed up and down the steep
hillsides of the city, and even bought a few little things from a couple of the
artists that are all over the place.
