picture a day past

12.01.05
mouth

Sal wanted a picture of the inside of his mouth. I have no idea why.

12.02.05
engaged

Eleven years ago today, Sal asked me to marry him. He wanted to give me a ring with a much bigger diamond, but this is the one I wanted. He worried people would think he was cheap.

12.03.05
street name

The office manager put up these "street signs" along the cubicle corridors to help everyone find their way around. The "streets" are named after various people in the office. This is mine.

12.04.05
vintage paris

I found this photo-to-canvas transfer print on Ebay for a terrific price and had to have it for my new office. I had to stretch it on a canvas frame myself, which I guess explains the price.

12.05.05
spoiled princess

Her Highness likes to curl up on the cushion nearest my desk but she never actually sleeps -- she's there to keep an eye on me.

12.06.05
mountain brook

Taken this summer during a day trip around Mt. Hood.

12.07.05
desert road

Snapped this pic on a walk when we were in Flagstaff a couple of years ago. That's the (I believe) southern end of Flagstaff Mountain in the background.

12.08.05
cubicles

Across the tops of the cubicles in the main section of our new office. Welcome to Initech.

12.09.05
space needle

Would you believe this is the only picture I've taken of the Space Needle in all the times we've been to Seattle?

12.10.05
pink & yellow

It's been raining her a lot, which I actually love, but a little color is nice now and then. All that rain will lead to these tulips, among other things, in the spring.

12.11.05
frosty the snowman

We won this charming Frosty at a Christmas trivia contest at a dinner at a friends' house. Frosty sings and plays three tunes and finishes with a flourish.

12.12.05
yes, more rocks

Don't mock me and my rocks.

12.13.05
rubber ducky

A very dear friend gave me these fabulous lights for Christmas. They even squeak!

12.14.05
concert tickets

Got to see the Dandy Warhols tonight -- excellent show. Couldn't hear anything for an hour afterward.

12.15.05
office view

If you stand right up to the windows in my office, these trees fill your view. I spend a lot of time there.

12.16.05
blue beads

I just love the depth of color of these glass beads.

12.17.05
ultra mod

I'm a more vintage & craftsman kinda girl, but modern designs like this one really appeal to me.

12.18.05
snowy morning

Waking up to a rare dusting of snow.

12.19.05
roasted veggies

Sal needed to use up these vegetables so he roasted them as part of dinner tonight.

12.20.05
browncoat day

Three years ago today, the last episode of Firefly aired. Today, the movie came out on DVD. We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty.

12.21.05
forest anarchy

I love how everything is on the verge of complete takeover by the forest.

12.22.05
holly tree

We may not have snow for the holidays, but we do have real holly trees.

12.23.05
free speech

This t-shirt was a present from another dear friend.

12.24.05
square tree

The Christmas tree at Pioneer Square.

12.25.05
happy hall-idays

The view from the street of our front window.

12.26.05
day after x-mas

This is how we spent the day after Christmas a couple of years ago.

12.27.05
red & green

In a few months, our rhododendron on the side of the house will look like this.

12.28.05
rhodie red

How much do I love this red?

12.29.05
rainforest pool

Someday if I ever visit the Amazon, I know I'll find a small little pool just like this.

12.30.05
formation

One of the beautiful natural sculptures to be found at the Grand Canyon.

12.31.05
simple

More of the ubiquitous tulips. Their simplicity is just so stunning.
