11.01.05
ducks & leaves
Ducks at Laurelhurst Park. I love
the color the leaves add to the water.

11.02.05
vote
A year ago today. Three more very
long years to go.

11.03.05
bench
I've wanted an old wrought iron
park bench since before we even had a house. Sal found this one for free on
craigslist and surprised me with it. We'll replace the wood with new slats and
paint it, it'll look great.

11.04.05
painting
This is a picture I snapped during
the tulip trip but it came out really blurry so I
never used it. Going back through my old picture folders, I decided it'd make a
good candidate for a paint technique in my photo program. It turned out so well
that it's now one of my favorites.

Never too many pictures of rocks.

11.06.05
salmon dinner
That's braised salmon in a
lemon-herb sauce, with roasted potatoes and rosemary polenta. My husband the
chef, ladies and gentlemen.

11.07.05
toy
Hobbes playing with a new present
from friends. We barely had it out of the package before this picture was taken.
|
11.08.05
rest
It's absolutely impossible not to
get a good nights' rest in a bedroom like this.

11.09.05
reading nook
Almost every night at around eight
o'clock, we retire to our reading nook. Honestly, who wouldn't?
|
11.10.05
parlor
This is the dining room that we've
turned into an office slash library that we euphemistically refer to as The
Parlor.
|
11.11.05
entertaining
We had friends over for the
evening. This is what Sal made for dinner.

garnished with an Anjou pear.

preparation
A handy little workspace for the
chef.
|
11.14.05
not roses
These are more tulips from the
famous tulip trip. Yes, those are tulips,
not roses.
|
11.15.05
rocks again
Another picture from
Arcadia.

A view of Mt. Hood taken not far
from Hood River earlier this summer.

Dinner tonight: homemade pasta
with a red sauce made from scratch. Homemade and from scratch, people.

11.18.05

Trees a long the cliff rim at
Multnomah Falls.

Some of the glorious fall color at
Multnomah Falls.

There's seriously no way to take a
bad picture at Multnomah Falls.

The first day at my new office.

Standing at my desk, looking out
those windows.

11.23.05
late morning fog
A view down the river during a
particularly stubborn fog.

A quiet little pocket of forest on
the slope of Mt. Hood.

11.25.05
frosted
Sal made the best carrot cake I've
ever eaten and frosted it very simply. He says if it tastes great, there's no
need to bury it heavy icing.
|
11.26.05
respite
The kids are napping, which gives
us a brief relief from their usual ongoing terror.
|
11.27.05
grumpy
Sal trying very hard to look gruff
and foreboding. He's not very good at it.
|
11.28.05
self-made
I created this piece of artwork
for my office. It came out surprisingly well.

11.29.05
pieces of me
Close-up of my artwork. Every part
of it tells you something about me. There are scraps of text, formulas, & music
and over them, several quotes that mean something to me.
