09.01.05
changing

Our Firestorm Japanese Maple has begun turning from purple red to orange rust. Autumn's around the corner.

09.02.05
games

Our current game inventory. The Cootie game is a vintage set.

09.03.05
annex

Looking up through the canopy of our regular Japanese Maple. When we first walked through the house, finding this tree in the backyard was yet another sign that it was meant to be our house.

09.04.05
fern

I never saw green this color until I came to Oregon.

09.05.05
legend of zelda

Father and son chillin' on the couch and playin' some Zelda. Yo.

09.06.05
am commute

Crossing the bridge on my way to work, looking down the Willamette toward downtown.

09.07.05
pm commute

Getting onto the bridge, on my way home from work.

09.08.05
happy day

Three layer chocolate cake Sal made for me, with one layer of raspberry preserves in the center, and two chantilly cream layers, coated with chocolate ganache.

09.09.05
secret message

I painted this on the column in the attic before we started painting the room this spring, then painted the purple over it.

09.10.05
16 tons

This is 16 tons of chipped granite gravel. With the help of five very fabulous friends, we hauled all of it up the stairs in 5 gallon buckets.

09.11.05
bake sale

Those same very fabulous friends joined us in a bake sale fundraiser for Katrina victims thrown together on short notice. This was the last of four tables of stuff we sold.

09.12.05
hot pink

Taken at the Columbia Gorge Hotel this summer.

09.13.05
contemplation

One of my favorite shots of Sal. But I'm glad he finally cut his hair.

09.14.05
activist

Her enthusiasm during the peace vigil was... encouraging.

09.15.05
mccormick & schmick's

One of the best seafood restaurants in town.

09.16.05
hall house

The old girl is looking better and better every day.

09.17.05
dancers

German folk dancers at the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest.

09.18.05

Saw this on our way to Salem.

09.19.05
banner

Banners hanging all over the beirgartens at Oktoberfest.

09.20.05
forest pool

Pool at the base of the first waterfall at Multnomah Falls.

09.21.05
turbulence

Looking over the bridge at Multnomah Falls into the water falling below.

09.22.05
pink clouds

The sun is setting earlier, the days are getting shorter.

09.23.05
golden glow

Sometimes when sunlight falls just right at the end of the day, it lights up the trees across the street and makes the glow.

09.24.05
highlights

I love the way the light pokes through the dark this time of year.

09.25.05
peak

Mt. Jefferson, taken from Mt. Hood looking south.

09.26.05

This was a great little bakery/coffee shop we ate at in Seattle with Tammy and Terry.

09.27.05
tulip fields

One of many beautiful vistas we saw during our trip with Tammy and Terry.

09.28.05
veronica mars

Wahoo! Season 2 of Veronica Mars starts tonight. Also? I heart DVDs.

09.29.05
downtown at twilight

Taken from the Eastbank Esplanade, looking across the river at dusk.

09.30.05
serenity
