07.01.05
crowns
There's something vaguely humbling
when you're standing amongst a circle of tall trees and look up.
|
07.02.05
frame
The crook in this old tree formed
a perfect frame for the view beyond.
|
07.03.05
winding road
Prime Meridian and I decided the
holiday weekend called for a road trip, so we took the the scenic route almost
completely around Mt. Hood. The days to come will feature many pictures
from that trip.
|
07.04.05
doe
We came upon a doe and her fawn
crossing the road on our drive. They bounded into the woods, but we managed to
snap a pic of them before they disappeared.

07.09.05
riverbed
This becomes a wide, rough river
during the spring runoff. The rocks are all carried off Mt. Hood, several miles
away.
|
07.10.05
clear blue
Mt. Hood taken from the southern
side on a clear and glorious summer day.
|
07.11.05
spire
There's something kind of noble
and proud about this lone tree trunk still standing upright.
|
07.12.05
geological survey
This can be found on the grounds
of the Columbia Gorge Hotel.
Amusingly, it says there's a $250 fine for disturbing the marker.

07.13.05
anniversary
If you want to really celebrate a
big important occasion properly, I highly recommend
McCormick & Schmick's. They go out of their way to make it special.
|
07.14.05
threesome
This threesome was so darling. I
wondered...a brother and his sisters? Cousins? Or is he a real ladies' man?
|
07.15.05
celebrate
Romantic dining for two at one of
the best seafood restaurants in town.
|
07.16.05
jazz festival
A picture-perfect day at the 25th
Annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival. This
is where I live.

Still at the festival. We brought
a picnic and four great friends. And seriously? Perfect. Day.

07.19.05
street scene
I just love how the sunlight was shining down the streets like a
canyon, the buildings like rock faces. |
07.20.05
harbor
The Salvation Army Harbor Light does good work. Help them if you can. |

 |
07.21.05
painting
This painting hangs in the dining
room at McCormick & Schmick's and considering the subject material, of course I
had to snap a pic.
|
07.22.05

Colorful patio umbrellas at the
festival beer garden.

07.23.05
Sal's profile
Hey, it's that guy!

 |
07.25.05

More of our living room. We spent
three days rearranging and it's like a whole new room.
|
07.26.05
cascade
The Columbia Gorge Hotel is built
over a waterfall that flows into the Columbia.
|
07.27.05
wood fall
I wonder what woodland creatures
call this home?
|
07.28.05
neon landmark
The
Portland Outdoor Store is a city landmark and the sign is featured in a lot
of picture of Portland.

07.29.05
new market block
The New Market building used to
house an opera house, a theater, produce stalls, and was the original launching
place of the Portland Symphony. It was rescued from scheduled demolition and
renovated a few years ago.

The top of the building that
houses Kell's Irish Pub.
|
07.31.05
big pink
The
US
Bancorp Tower, which is where I first worked when we moved to Portland. On
the 15th floor, to be exact. I was up there during the February 2001 earthquake.
Not good times.
