06.01.05 shooter's choice weekday
It's our three year anniversary as
the proud owners of Hall House!
|
06.02.05 shooter's choice weekday
We started dating on this day 15
years ago. These are our promise rings, which we both still wear.
|
06.03.05 shooter's choice weekday
The first of the promised flower
pictures form the Oregon Garden. These things grow like weeds in Oregon, and I
never get tired of them.
|
06.04.05 shooter's choice weekend
A wetland at the Garden. Can you
spot the little froggy?
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
06.05.05 shooter's choice weekend
The first of many rose pictures to
follow from the Garden. But only this one has a bee -- in mid-flight, even!
|
06.06.05 shooter's choice weekday
Did I say calla lillies grow like
weeds in Oregon? I was wrong. Roses do. Bless them.
|
06.07.05 shooter's choice weekday
I love the delicate, vintage look
and color of this rose.
|
06.08.05 shooter's choice weekday
Another vintage-y rose, both in
color and look. So lovely.
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
06.09.05 shooter's choice weekday
We interrupt our cavalcade of
flowers for a stream scape from the Garden, because I covet.
|
06.10.05 shooter's choice weekday
A hazelnut tart with a chocolate
pate sucre crust and topped with fresh Oregon strawberries, created by Sal, of
course.
|
06.11.05 shooter's choice weekend
This is the roof of the St. Johns
(North Portland) Police Precinct. It used to be the St. Johns City Hall.
|
06.12.05 shooter's choice weekend
An entire flat of fresh Oregon
strawberries, frozen and vacuum-sealed, in 2 and 4 cup portions. We're so
spoiled.

 |
06.13.05 shooter's choice weekday
My friend and Oregon Garden
strolling partner.
|
06.14.05 shooter's choice weekday
More beautiful roses.
|
06.15.05 shooter's choice weekday
The darling fountain sculpture
from the Children's Garden. I love the frog in his pocket.
|
06.16.05 shooter's choice weekday
The perfect, quintessential red
rose.
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
06.17.05 shooter's choice weekday
And still more roses. Would you
believe we saw only a quarter of the Gardens? Yeah, we spent all our time in the
roses section.
|
06.18.05 shooter's choice weekend
The color here is so rich and
yummy, it's almost overwhelming. I could gaze at it for hours.
|
06.19.05 shooter's choice weekend
The last of the Oregon Garden pictures. These roses were the most
unusual color I've ever seen, kind of a gradation from rust to a dusty purple. |
06.20.05 shooter's choice weekday
Our big storm last night did little over in our neck of the woods
except give us some awesome sky. |

portrait
His Lordship, posing for the
camera on his throne.
|
06.22.05 reference
You'd think, having these
resources at our fingertips, that we'd make a lot less mistakes than we do.
|
06.23.05
red balloon
Took this picture while lazing the
day away on a blanket at Cathedral Park.
|
06.24.05
gnomes
This is a limited edition carving
titled "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod". I've had it since I was 12.
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
06.25.05
other side
Yes, it's the millionth picture of
the bridge, but since we usually take pictures from the other side, this is nice
change of pace.
|
06.26.05
corbels
These kind of decorative corbels
are quite common in Portland and are part of what give the city it's Old World
European flavor.
|
06.27.05
steel bridge
That's the top of the Steel Bridge
in the distance. It was built in 1912 and is a
rare dual-lift bridge.
|
06.28.05
kell's
Kell's Irish Pub is a Portland
institution and the place to go for all things authentically Irish. Their St.
Patrick's Day celebrations are legendary.

06.29.05
sunspots
One of my favorite pics so far.
Those lens flares were completely accidental, but I love how it turned out.
|
06.30.05
sentries
The huge, ancient trees here never
fail to awe and amaze me.
